Up, Up, and Away
This morning I went and sat in the sky for a while. While there I discovered the perfect spot for a date. Due to my procrastination there were few (just me) people who ended up at Snow Basin this morning for a hike of Mt. Ogden. I waited a while and watched people getting ready for the XTerra race, and then decided that as long as I was there I may as well go to the top of the mountain anyway. The gondola was running and I purchased a ticket.
The ride to Needles Lodge near the top took about 20 minutes. Quite the ride and view. At the top there was a group from OHS having what looked like a nice reunion. I hiked around the Needles Cirque Loop and up to the ridge. The Loop has picnic benches, and there was one on the ridge that some poor person(s) had to haul up the trail. It was nice to be able to relax up away from it all.
If you ever hike Mt. Ogden, know that if the gondola is running that you may, I was informed, ride it down the mountain for the low low price of free.
If you ever find yourself sitting on a cactus, get up.
(You'd be surprised how many metaphoric cacti we remain glued to.)
